Use Photos & Videos of Familiar Faces to Spice Up Presentations

Keeping presentations lively and interesting means occasionally inserting the unexpected.

I like to add pictures of my students or myself into classroom multimedia presentations at key moments.  If we’re talking about a math concept, I may insert a picture of a student who was just honored for scoring a perfect 600 on her STAR math test saying, “I knew that!”  After an important concept is introduced, the face of our principal or other staff member appears at the bottom of a slide saying, “Are you listening?  This stiff is important!”  When we’re talking about Science, the face of my Scientific clone, Dr. Dunbar, often appears to underscore a key point.

Even and probably especially in presentations to teachers, it doesn’t hurt to add a little humor and fun.
