Update: Grants & Contests for Classroom Technology

The 2012 Follett Challenge is offering $200,000 worth of products and services to six K-12 teachers who are crafting curriculum that teaches 21st-century skills.  Successful entries should show that they have designed programs developing critical thinking, communication, creativity and collaboration among students and teachers.  DEADLINE: January 4, 2013


The 2012 ePals Global Student Intervention Contest asks students to become inventors and create something that makes life easier or better.  Submissions can take the form of a video, PowerPoint or printed document, and there are four age categories: 5-7, 8-11, 12-14 and 15 & up.  DEADLINE: January 4, 2013


The 2012 Siemens We Can Change the World Challenge asks K-12 students to identify environmental problems and issues in their own schools and communities (or even around the world) and come up with a way to solve them with green solutions.  The competition is broken up into local (K-5), regional (6-8) and global (9-12) environmental issues.  DEADLINE: March 5, 2013
