Answer: This television quiz show has been number one in the United States and its school classrooms for more than 45 years.
Question: What is Jeopardy?
One of the most engaging review methods is the Jeopardy! format. Give students the answer to a question, and they must come up with the question that fits that answer. More than a decade ago, I remember making a Jeopardy! game for student review using a pocket chart and a lot of index cards. Today, there are several ways to put your class in Jeopardy! for engaging and exciting review!
- If want to create your own Jeopardy! review and are comfortable with PowerPoint, just find one of the many online templates. I like the one at jc-schools.net because they also offer PowerPoint templates for “Wheel of Fortune,” “Who Wants to be a Millionaire?” and “Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader?”
- If you want it online, you can use SuperTeacherTools’ Free Flash Jeopardy! Review Generator. This also gives the added ability to download your creation.
- If you don’t want to “recreate the wheel,” there are number of already created Jeopardy! review games. Check out the ones at TeachFCPS, Math4Children, or buy your own Jeopardy! equipment & games at Educational Insights.
- Jeopardy itself has a Classroom Jeopardy game. Go to their website for more details.
