Dan Meyer, a Ph.D. candidate at Standford University, was the opening keynote speaker at the 2014 CUE Conference in Palm Springs, CA.  I had the great fortune (thanks to my district and supervisor) to be able to attend the conference and hear Dan speak.  Though I enjoyed the conference immensely, with workshops and vendors and speakers, the best part was meeting with like-minded educators who are excited about the possibilities technology can bring to enhance our students’ learning opportunities and success.  Dan is a clear example that we must be the guide on the side, not the sage on the stage.  We have to thoughtfully create learning experiences that “capture perplexity” so students can hone their problem-solving skills or they will never get the chance to practice them before they’re thrown into the “real world.”  Check out Dan’s blog at: blog.mrmeyer.com
